Visva Bharati vice-chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to strengthen his safety after ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Anubrata Mondol allegedly threatened him.
“That is an earnest request to you to undertake steps to keep away from untoward incidents within the campus and to make sure my bodily well-being together with members of the family,” Chakraborty wrote to Modi on March 24. He added Mondol threatened him with “dire penalties” after the continued West Bengal polls.
The calls on Mondol’s cell phone went answered and he didn’t reply to messages for feedback.
